Nick
Nick’s passion for hardware and software integration has taken his career on a life long journey to becoming an authority of onsite managed services integration and networking hardware and software. Having been at the forefront of cloud computing together with years of experience in network integration Nick has developed the necessary leading edge skills and expertise to transform any onsite services networks to secured cloud environments.
Just as important to Nick’s career development was coming to terms with challenge of managing client and user expectations. I have found that having developed social and interactive personal communication skills to be invaluable in change management. I have learnt that the success of any integration both in hardware and software, being able to interact successfully with the clients is crucial when executing all forms of project management whether it be a waterfall or agile of combination of both.

Who is Gerry?

As an entrepreneur at heart I have been involved several in ventures some successful and some failures. In between ventures I spent a number of years in corporate in the financial sector. Approximately 25 years ago, whilst CTO/CIO of a prominent Merchant Bank Gerry is entrepreneurial spirit drove him to leave the safe haven of the corporate and start a venture. Using an investment partner in the form of a major IT conglomerate to acquire and merge the start-up with an ailing delisted company. The startup grew the company organically as well as with further acquisitions. Three years later, I sold my share of the company to the investment partner. I again formed a start-up focusing in web and software applications. Parallel to this I purchased a large share of a prominent franchised restaurant and cocktail bar as an investment partner. Mismanagement by my then partners forced me to get actively involved and learn the treacherous retail hospitality business.
My scientific tertiary education in computational mathematics has always guided me to a scientific approach business. I am continually expanding my knowledge through reading, podcasts and audio books whenever the opportunity lends itself whether it is while driving, running, cycling or waiting in a queue. I take a keen interest in strategy, management, philosophy and in particular the effect of technology on human condition and business. One of my greatest strengths is in independent research. My postgraduate studies have taught me the importance of formalizing both my thought and acquisition of knowledge through the discipline of a dissertation.
